Karen P. Kaun
I build things at the edge of technology, learning, and human possibility. For more than two decades, my work has moved between education, invention, research, product development, and emerging technology. I am the founder of Makeosity and have built programs and products used by thousands of students, teachers, and families.
What I’m Building Now
PinocchAIo™
A new kind of AI system designed around continuity, co-learning, and the preservation of human intent over time.
Geppetto Industries™
A venture studio for finding extraordinary ideas, building them into working prototypes, and moving them toward the world.
mAIgicly
An experimental AI learning environment exploring how people and AI adapt to one another through play, conversation, and creation.
Selected Work
My earlier work includes Make Everything Possible and FACELAB, hands-on engineering and robotics programs that reached more than 3,000 students across 26 schools; a patented kinetic energy device; Peace Diaries, an international youth writing and art project; and collaborations with organizations including Carnegie Mellon Robotics Academy, Autodesk, and public school systems in New York City.
Writing & Research
I write about artificial intelligence, human-AI collaboration, learning, invention, and what happens when technology begins changing the relationship between people and the things they create.
I am still building.
